Audio & Visual Integration for Media Walls
Cinema-grade sound and a flush-mounted screen — built directly into the wall. In-wall speakers, hidden subwoofers, recessed soundbars, and concealed cable runs that turn your living room into a true home theater without a single black box visible.
Why AV Integration Is What Separates a Wall From a Theater
Built Around the Screen, Not Around It
A media wall that fights its TV always loses. We design every wall around the exact screen size, viewing height, and reveal you want — so the display becomes part of the architecture instead of a black rectangle hung on top of it. The result reads as a single, intentional composition.
Cinema Sound With Nothing on the Floor
In-wall and in-ceiling speakers, hidden subwoofers, and recessed soundbars deliver true theater audio without a single tower, cable, or stand visible in the room. Your living space stays clean, your sound stage gets bigger — exactly the opposite of what most setups achieve.
Every Component Hidden, Every Source Reachable
Apple TV, console, receiver, modem — all run through a hidden equipment bay with HDMI fiber, Ethernet, and power pulled cleanly back through the panel cavities. You see the picture and hear the sound; you never see a single wire or a stack of black boxes.
Where AV Components Belong on a Media Wall
Every media wall we build is engineered around five integration zones. Here's what each one is doing for the room — and why planning them at the design stage is the difference between a clean install and a cable-rats-nest retrofit.

Six AV Components Built Into Every Wall

Atmos Soundbar Integration
Premium Dolby Atmos soundbar (Sonos Arc, Bowers & Wilkins Panorama, or Sennheiser Ambeo) recessed into a tuned cavity below the TV. Front-vented grille, isolated mounting, and HDMI eARC pre-wired to the screen.

In-Wall Surround Speakers
Sonance and Bowers & Wilkins in-wall and in-ceiling speakers with paintable grilles, mounted in sealed acoustic enclosures. Configurations from 3.1 to full 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos with overhead height channels.

Hidden In-Wall Subwoofer
SVS or Sonance in-wall subwoofer mounted in a tuned 8" enclosure within the lower section of the media wall. Delivers full cinematic low-end down to 30Hz with zero visible footprint in the room.

Heavy-Duty TV Mount
Articulating Sanus or Chief mount rated to 200 lbs. Tilts, swivels, and pulls forward 18" for service access. Recessed into the wall so the screen sits flush or with a clean 1" reveal — no bracket visible.

Acoustic Treatment & Dampening
Felt-lined panel cavities, mineral wool insulation, and decoupled mounting hardware to eliminate rattle, resonance, and bass bleed into adjacent rooms. The wall itself becomes a tuned acoustic environment.

AV Cabling & Pass-Through Kit
HDMI 2.1 fiber-optic cables (rated 8K/120Hz), Ethernet pulls, in-wall power kits, and recessed pass-through plates. Everything routed through panel cavities back to a single hidden equipment bay.
How to Plan AV Like a Designer
Three rules separate a clean integrated install from a hardware-store retrofit. Every wall we build follows them — and you can apply the same logic to any DIY kit installation.
Design the Wall Around the Screen Size
Every great media wall starts with the TV. Lock in the exact display size first, then design the cavity, soundbar slot, shelving, and proportions around it. The wall should look intentional with the TV on or off — not like a frame searching for a picture.
Hide Every Source — Show Only the Picture
Apple TV, game consoles, receivers, modems, and routers all belong in a single hidden equipment bay. We pull HDMI fiber and Ethernet back through the panel cavity so the only thing in the room is the screen. IR repeaters keep every remote working without line-of-sight.
Match Speaker Power to Room Volume
A 2.1 soundbar setup is perfect for an open-plan living room up to about 400 sq ft. Above that — or for any dedicated theater room — step up to in-wall surround with a hidden sub. Underpowered audio in a large room is the most common AV mistake we see in retrofits.
What to Look for in Media Wall AV Integration
Generic brackets and a stack of black boxes will work — for about a year. Here's the spec we engineer into every Media Walls USA install and DIY kit.
- Dolby Atmos pre-wiring (eARC HDMI 2.1 to TV)
- Sealed acoustic enclosures for every in-wall speaker
- HDMI 2.1 fiber-optic — rated for 8K/120Hz
- 200 lb articulating TV mount on every install
- Mineral wool dampening to kill cabinet resonance
- App control + Apple Home / Google / Alexa ready
- Hidden equipment bay with ventilation & IR repeater
- Cat6 Ethernet pulled to TV and equipment bay
- 2-year workmanship + manufacturer warranty (2–5 yr)
- Tested with Sonos, B&W, Sonance, SVS, Sanus, Chief
